TV Drama: Tom Sawyer (Czech version)

 

Tom Sawyer, the classic novel by Mark Twain, has been made into many movies and television series. We met one version here.

You probably already know the basic story even if you’ve never actually read the book (do you know anyone who has?)

Here’s a television version called Dobrodružství Toma Sawyera from Czechoslovakia made in 1967. The clip shows the well-known schoolroom scene where Tom gets a caning for something his sweetheart Becky did.

Tom bends over in front of the class and it does look like the actor playing Tom is rather enjoying himself.
