Memories: The paddle hung on the wall
At school a boy did not under any
circumstances do something that would bring him to the office of the principal.
This was for several reasons. One main one
was the paddle that hung on the wall of his or her office. And the fact was
well known that the paddle could and would be used. Just seeing that monster
hanging there struck terror into even the most hardened student.
And knowing that what you received at
school was not anything compared to what you were going to get when you got
home when your parents found out.

ReplyDeleteI checked and you are correct. There are more than 1,600 posts on this site so I suppose a duplicate is accidently going to get through now and again ...
DeleteTotally understandable - it wasn't intended as a criticism merely an observation.
