Pupils vote to keep caning
When a comprehensive school held a poll
among its pupils in 1980 it found most were in favour of school uniform and
keeping the cane. ‘Boys say they prefer caning when it is fair. Other
punishments such as detention can drag on and cause resentment.’ the Deputy
Headmaster said.
