Favourite TV Drama Clips: 20
Last year I had a lot of fun compiling my
Top 20 favourite school CP scenes from mainstream movies. And thanks to all who
contacted me to tell me about your own favourites.
By ‘mainstream’ I mean a film of fiction
that has a school CP scene that occurs naturally as part of the plot. You can
see them all again by clicking here.
Now, I’m going to do it all over again,
but this time looking at dramas that were broadcast on television from anywhere
in the world.
This is a personal choice so depends
entirely on my own tastes, so my choices might be different to yours. But,
that’s half the fun.
There are no prizes.
Let me know about your favourites.
To start the ball rolling, at Number 20 we
have Drummonds. It was about a boarding school in the 1950s and the problems
faced by its headmaster George
Drummond.
I like it because it
seems to be an authentic representation of a traditional school: traditional
curriculum, traditional uniform, traditional games and, as this clip
demonstrates, traditional discipline. The headmaster is pompous and the two
schoolboys take their punishment without fuss.

As you say very matter of fact and without fuss - the boys are somewhat younger than I was when first experiencing the cane and might, perhaps, have been a little less stoic but well depicted nonetheless.
