Children punished for faults of teachers
Every time a teacher canes a boy or
reports him for punishment it is an open confession to his utmost incompetency
to act in any position other than as a slavedriver and no crime a child commits
in school is of sufficient consequence to merit a thrashing: according to a
writer in 1912.
His comments were later attacked by a headteacher
of a council school.

I'm sure that, if I had shown this article to my headmaster to demonstrate his incompetence, he would have found a method of expressing his appreciation - and I wouldn't have been sitting comfortably afterwards; of that I'm certain!
