Vicar says ‘bring back the cane’

 A vicar advocated bringing back the cane to English schools 10 years after it had been outlawed.

‘I used to be a teacher at an all-boys school in Hertfordshire where the discipline was very good. The boys would be punished by the cane,’ he said.

The vicar appeared to be a lone voice. His bishop distanced himself as did a prominent local headmaster.
