‘Cane never did me any harm’
When there was public discussion in 1996
about reintroducing the cane into UK schools, the People, a Sunday
tabloid, asked its readers to pile in.
“Just the sight of our headmaster coming
through the classroom door with cane in hand was sufficient to make us sit up
straight and behave.”

I agree it does keep kids in line we was afraid of the teachers now the teachers are afraid of the kids. When i was at school every teacher had a cane or slipper or both the head and and that hurt like fuck your arse was sore for a few days after a visit to them deputy head had canes which was the worst. But we was respectful and we had very little trouble in our all boys school in the 60s also if you told your parents then you would end up with another sore backside the cane teachers respect and trust and it's over quickly if you do wrong then you should get punished it did me good no harm at all except a sore bum
