Memories: A League table for beltings
When Michael Brown was at school
the boys kept a league table of their tawsings. You got a point for every
stroke. The degree of pain you suffered depended on who was inflicting the
punishment. A robust 6 ft geography teacher was deemed to wield the heaviest
hand in the school, he wrote in 1977.
