TV Drama: Children of Fire Mountain
Children of Fire Mountain is a 13-part miniseries set in New Zealand in 1900.
It is a children’s drama and
portrays the conflict between Maori and white settlers when an Englishman
arrives and attempts to build a health spa on Maori land.
This clip from episode
two is set in the schoolroom
where a boy is caned for being late. Although some of the children react to the
beating it seems as if such is a commonplace occurrence.
