Little House
on the Prairie is a popular
long-running American TV series that has worldwide fame. It has many moralistic
storylines and often includes scenes of corporal punishment.
This clip is from a 1976
episode called Troublemaker. Teacher Miss Beadle is deemed unable to control
some of the rowdy, older boys in her class so the Walnut Grove school board
replaces her with a firmer, male hand. But the new schoolmaster tries to bully
his students into submission.
