TV Drama: Annie Oakley
The American TV series Annie
Oakley is a fictionalized account of the life of legendary Wild West
sharpshooter Annie Oakley. Set in the quiet western town of Diablo, Annie and
her little brother Tagg made sure that outlaws who moseyed into town kept on
going.
In this
episode called A Widow’s Mite (season
2, episode 16) which first aired in April 1955 Annie steps in when the widow Malloy and her young son Dave
are being scared into selling their property.
A corrupt teacher intrigues to have Dave committed to a reformatory school. In this scene he thrashes the boy with a
switch for being late to school.
