The fateful flogging
The Magnet
story paper, in its day one of the most popular of the early ‘comics’, featured
a newspaper called the Greyfriars
Herald which was supposedly written
by the schoolboys themselves. It often featured a short story. Here’s an
example. Billy
Bunter thinks
he can face a flogging without turning a hair. He has rubbed resin into his
hand. Can you guess what goes wrong ….?
