Comic: Roger the Dodger
Roger the Dodger was a character in the Beano
whose main claim to fame was he always made elaborate plans (which always
failed) to avoid doing chores or homework. He first appeared in 1953 and was a
main feature of the comic for decades.
Most of the time he was dodging work at home but very
occasionally we saw him at school and comics being comics back in the day when
he was discovered dodging, he felt the sting of the cane.
