Movie: Unknown mute movie

Here’s an oddity ... It’s a clip from a film that is so lost in history, no one knows its name, and any soundtrack it may have had has been wiped.

But, for reasons unclear, it is housed in the Huntley Archives, apparently because it is part of ‘social history’.

A boy fires a catapult out of an upper floor window at school. a schoolmaster approaches, a hand takes and twists his ear.

He is marched off to a room. Two boys listen at the door as we suppose the pupil is caned. He emerges, apparently crying, and walks downstairs with two friends, but smiles and pulls a wad of protection from his trousers and happily winks at the camera.

(“Is that the hollow sound of the bottom of a barrel being scraped, I can hear?” – Editor.)
