Comic: Strange Hill
Strange Hill was a comic strip
that ran in Whizzer and Chips from 1980-81. It was inspired by the BBC children’s
school series Grange Hill. According to Denis Gifford in his Encylopedia of
Comic Characters, the pupils at Strange Hill were literally little
monsters. ‘Mr Weeble was the nervous form-master of as odd a mob of
monstrosities as ever escaped from a horror film.’
‘Top of the class was a boy
called Boss, who had horns on his head, a pointed tail, and spots.’
Whizzer and Chips was published by Fleetway and IPC. More examples of
Stange Hill are on the British Comic Compilations website here.

A new one on me but then I'd stopped reading comics many years before!
ReplyDeleteGreat find, thanks for sharing. Had forgotten about this comic strip, brought back some good memories of my childhood fascination with corporal punishment in comics.
