Movie: Neds
Neds,
a 2010 movie, follows the story of John McGill, a young boy growing up in
1970s Glasgow, Scotland. While a brilliant student who excels in his
studies at school, his studious nature causes conflicts with his working-class
family and the wider, gang-riddled neighbourhood.
A part of Neds (it means Non-Educated
Delinquents) is set at a Catholic school where the leather tawse is in constant
use. The classroom scenes feel like a documentary rather than a drama.
