Comic: Dirty Dick
Dirty Dick – you’d never get away
with a name like that in a family publication these days – was a staple of the Dandy
comic for about 15 years from 1960. The basic idea of the strip was that Dick
was a loveable lad but he just couldn’t stop from leaving the house in the
morning and returning later, dirty.
Most of his adventures took place in
the town but occasionally we did see him mucking about at school.
Dirty Dick was drawn by artist Eric Roberts who
also drew the Dandy strip Winker Watson (who we’ll meet on another day).
