CP Services: Church at Boddington Manor
At last, the DVD
of CP Services, London’s Discipline at Boddington Manor has surfaced. It seemed that it had never been
uploaded to the Internet and because of that it had largely disappeared from
view. Previously, we had only seen a preview (here).
Now, a reader of
this blog has kindly digitalized the one-hour-long video and shared it with us.
It turns out that some of the scenes had been uploaded as stand-alone videos
but there is still much that many of us won’t have seen before.
The basic idea is
that Boddington Manor is a school set in 112 acres near the village of Lower
Brampton in the tranquil English countryside. The school was founded in 1890
and although it is not stated the action probably takes place in the 1950s.
The headmaster is
Col. Reid MC “a strict disciplinarian” played, of course, by the much-missed
Keith.
A series of “boys”
visit the headmaster and are required to atone for a multitude of misdemeanors.
In this clip,
Church has been late for prep., been caught out of bounds and has poor sports
results. He’s rather lucky that he only gets Six (but four are on the bare).
