TV Drama: Shine on Harvey Moon
Shine on Harvey
Moon is a largely forgotten British television drama from the 1980s. It is
set in the years following World War Two and involves Harvey who has been
demobbed from the Royal Air Force and is finding it difficult to get back into
the swing of civilian life.
In this scene from series 2 episode 1 Harvey and his
estranged wife Rita take their son Stanley for an interview to try to get him
enrolled in an upscale Church of England Grammar School.
It is indeed a very traditional school ...
For reasons that I don’t understand the series doesn’t seem to be rebroadcast on digital television in the UK, but a DVD was released to mark the series’ 25th anniversary.
