Three strokes end in court

 

A schoolboy claimed he was caned three stokes on the bottom by his teacher because he wanted to help him. A magistrates’ court didn’t believe him.

Incidentally, the lad’s name was Tom Merry, the same name as the fictional character who was probably one of the best-known schoolboys of his generation. I wonder how many Billy Bunters there are out there …
