Extract: Tom Merry’s Conquest
Marmaduke Smythe has been beaten-up by boys
at a rival school and now his housemaster is demanding he names the culprits so
that a complaint can be made to their headmaster and they be duly punished.
Marmaduke doesn’t want to sneak on them and gets a caning.
This extract is from the story Tom Merry’s
Conquest, by Martin Clifford (a writer better known as Frank
Richards of Billy
Bunter fame) and was published in Boy Friend’s Library, No 38, which
