Punishment book reveals girls got it too
A book recording details of corporal
punishment in the 1920s and early 1930s at a school in Lowestoft, Suffolk,
revealed ‘painful moments’, according to Trevor Westgate, writing in a local
newspaper. What makes this book unusual is that it recorded the caning of
girls.
Offences meriting the cane included
throwing paper across the room.

Despite the curiosity of girls having their own single punishment book, I can't help wondering how many volumes the boys' records comprised.
