Hotspur: When Santa Claus Was Caned
At Christmas time children’s’
comics like to come up with seasonal variations for their regular stories. The Hotspur,
a comic we have met before here,
was no exception. In 1933 it came up with a tale of misunderstanding involving
a series of Santas. The plot makes absolutely no sense but just go with the
flow. It centres on the Red Circle school, the comic’s elite ‘public’ boarding
school.
