Greyfriars headmasters of the past
Dr Ezekiel Stubbs, one-time headmaster of
Greyfriars School, was an inhuman monster. Birchings in Big Hall were the order
of the day; and in nearly every case the punishment was far in excess of the
crime.
George Wingate, the Captain of Greyfriars
writes on Headmasters of the Past in the Greyfriars Herald, a supplement
to the Magnet story paper.
As published in Magnet, 1 March 1924.
