BBC Landmarks: Victorian school

 

We’ve already visited Victorian schools with the programme Horrible Histories. Here’s another glimpse into bygone days; this time with a BBC Schools programme called Landmarks.

We see a boy caned for answering back his schoolmaster. Other children read extracts from real punishment books and reveal how to split the schoolmaster’s cane.
