Movie: Line of Fire

The short film Line of Fire (not to be confused with the Hollywood blockbuster with a nearly similar name) is a dark tale set at a Catholic school. To quote the film’s blurb, ‘Dean Bottomly lives in an authoritarian world. Every day he sacrifices his freedom to avoid the wrath of the wretched Mr. Rattan.’

It was made in 2001 and directed, produced and written by Gregg Watt.

Below are two scenes from the film. In the first Dean, played by Joseph Pinkston, is caned in front of the class because he only scored 83 out of a 100 in a test.

In the second, Mr Rattan, played by Joe Farella, shows he is way out of control, but Dean (kind of) has the last laugh.

The full movie which runs for a total of 15 minutes is available free of charge on line here and here.
