Comic: Tom Smith’s Schooldays

 

Tom Smith’s Schooldays, a strip that appeared in the UK comic Buddy that published between 1981 and 1983, was billed as the “True-to-life story of one of Britain’s top public schools.” It certainly had its fair share of prefects and caning, but in real life most of that kind of behaviour had disappeared decades earlier.

Here’s an example from 1982. The prefect is accused of being soft, but he soon proves otherwise.
