‘Tactfully conceal’ the cane
Rules on using the cane were introduced in Ireland in 1905. They included have no ostentatious brandishing of the rod and ‘tactfully conceal’ the cane from view.

What an odd set of new regulations - no brandishing the cane ostentatiously - very strange. TR
ReplyDeleteso "Tyrone House" in this context means the Department of Education during the British occupation, and IAW Wikipedia, still houses the Irish Department of Education today
