Sting Pictures revisited
Many people seemed to have enjoyed our visit to the
Sting Pictures studio (here).
But someone has whispered in my ear that I might not have done Sting justice
with my choice of clip.
It was an early one and showed Tony – who had been
caught smoking in the bogs – taking down his trousers and going over the
Chesterfield for Six.
The bone of contention was that this clip did not
showcase the very real technical expertise that Sting puts into shooting its
videos. That is the lighting, camera direction, editing and so forth. Can there
be any doubt that Sting is far and away the best of the male-male discipline
studios in this regard?
Anyhow, for those of you who have not experienced the
quality of Sting – and just as an excuse to show more of its work – here’s a
clip that does demonstrate the technical virtuosity of Sting.
It’s from Tales From St Datchets Academy (Grey Shorts
2) which was made around 2008 and is available to
buy here. Nicholson (played by Harry)
has been caught smoking (the perennial sin of “schoolboys” in these types of
video.) Of course, he is sent to headmaster (Rich
O’Shea), and we see the resulting caning from every
conceivable angle.

Yes, Sting earn top marks for their sets, lighting, production values. My only quibble is the hand spanking which often follows punishment with an implement.
ReplyDeleteMy favourite productions were made by a UK gentleman . Thwackem House I think they were called. Very realistic scenes . Sadly, his work has now mostly been withdrawn.
