Tom Brown’s Schooldays is the public-school drama that just keeps giving. It was originally a book and has been made into many film and television dramas. At Number 2 in my personal Top 20 favourite school CP scenes from TV drama is a clip from the ITV (UK) version from 2005, staring Stephen Fry as headmaster Dr Arnold and Alex Pettyfer as Tom.
The boys ‘riot’ against changes in the school rules and Tom Brown is singled out as a ring-leader. Under pressure from the headmaster the school captain Frobisher deals with young Tom.

ReplyDeleteA very good clip - it's a shame that, as with so many of these scenes, the punishment itself is so truncated. Just enough to portray the occurrence and then move on swiftly.
