‘No study feeds – longer lessons – more floggings! Such are a few of the drastic changes the new Head of St. Frank’s thinks fit to impose on the school. It’s asking for trouble – and Martin, the martinet, gets it from Nipper and Co. of the Remove,’ so runs the advertisement for The Tyrant Head!, by Edwy Searles Brooks, the latest offering from the Schoolboy’s Own Library in December 1936.
