Children
is a 1976 BBC Television drama about violence (social and domestic) and its
effects on a boy, told in a series of extended flashbacks, revealing the
incidents in his childhood and adult life that have subverted his personality.
Robert Tucker, a pupil at a Catholic boys’
school in Liverpool, is bullied and taunted by older boys just as, between
prayers and lessons, all the boys are bullied, taunted and beaten by their
teachers.
It is part of a trilogy of dramas written
by Terence Davies.
In this clip a bigger boy bullies Robert
and they fight, a teacher sees them and both boys are caned.
