TV Drama: Home and Away
Home and Away is an Australian soap
opera that has been running for decades. It is especially popular in Britain
where back in the day it was regularly among the top ten for viewing figures.
It focuses on the residents of Summer Bay.
In this clip that was first aired on 3
October 1990, Blake Dean (played by Les Hill), who is a ‘rebel,’ is caned by Alan Stone (played by Philip Hinton) the
deputy principal.
According to the fan
website Back to the Bay, “Stone explains to Blake and rest of class that he
will deal with a person that cheats by caning the student. Blake says he isn’t
allowed to cane him.” It turns out the cane hasn’t been used in the school for
“4 years and 3 months to be precise”.
Blake exacts revenge by
taking the wheels of Stone's car and raising it on bricks, which causes his car
to be damaged
