All or Nothing at All is a British television “mini-series” from 1993 staring Hugh Laurie as Leo Hopkins, a con-man financial advisor who loses his clients’ money by betting on horses.

There is a flashback scene to Leo’s schooldays, where he accepts a dare from another boy and is severely caned as a result.
