TV: Kinky item from The One Show
Here’s a kinky item from the BBC current affairs
programme The
One Show. As part of a report on some teachers wanting corporal punishment back
in schools, presenter Adrian Chiles took an authentic six-of-the-best caning
across his backside. It was delivered by Simon Warr who was dressed in a traditional
headmaster’s cap and gown. He was described as a teacher of 20 years’ experience
who used the cane back when it was allowed and would like to bring it back “because
he enjoys it”. Chiles said straight-faced.
The caning was filmed and aired on the show. His caning
was witnessed by colleagues on the show.
After the beating Chiles discusses with Warr his
caning technique: he picked one spot to land all six strokes.
(It is not made clear but the “headmaster” is almost certainly
the Simon Warr that we met here.)
The same edition of The One Show from October 2008 also
had an item presented by Anita Rani about a survey of more than 6,000 teachers,
by the Times Educational Supplement, which found that one in five
teachers would like to see the cane re-introduced in UK schools. Corporal
punishment had been banned in state schools in 1987, and in private schools in
1998.
