Movie: How Green Was My Valley
I get the impression (no
research done, so no evidence available LOL) that just about every film made
that features a childhood from the Victorian days onward must include a school
scene. And that scene must include a vicious schoolmaster.
How Green Was My Valley is
an example. It is set in a fictional South Wales mining village in Victorian
times and follows Huw and the Morgan family (much more on the
plot here.) It is, in fact, an American film, made in 1941 when
Wales and the rest of Britain was rather busy and the US had yet to enter the
Second World War.
Roddy McDowall played Huw. The teacher Mr. Jonas is Morton
Lowry.
