Movie: The Strap (Bravo)

 

The short movie The Strap – not to be confused with the other short movie called The Strap that we saw here – is a humorous (intentionally, I think) story about a scrawny eight-year-old boy who believes the tales of the toughest kind in the school about getting The Strap.

If you put a hair across the palm of the hand and then the master straps it the palm will bleed. This will force the master to stop the beating and gives a kid a chance to complain to the school governors and get him sacked.

That’s the story he is told. But when it’s his turn to visit the headmaster things do not go according to that script.

The film was directed by Jason Gileno with producers: David Bajurny, East Hill Productions. It was funded by Bravo!FACT / NFB and can be downloaded free-of-charge here.
