How to fake a caning (Spoiler Alert!)
There is no Santa Claus. The Tooth Fairy does not
exist. Apologies if I have just shattered two of your long-held illusions. Here’s
another one to go. The canings headmasters and the like deliver in films are
not real.
They are faked.
They are trickeries.
Here’s a video clip that deliberately gives the game

You remember we met the Singaporean television school drama Don’t Stop Believin’? (Here) It had a scene with a public caning. To the viewer at home it looked not only authentic, but very severe.Not a bit of it.
The makers of the programme show how it was done. The
clip is not dubbed into English and there are no subtitles, but its obvious
what is going on.
